Princess' Story:
I took her to the vet for a route exam & to schedule a dental and tooth extraction on Wednesday. I was told that she's developed a heart murmur that would also need to be treated and an x-ray would need to be done before the cleaning because if her heart is enlarged they wouldn't be able to do the dental.
In addition to that, on Friday morning I found out that her bloodwork didn't come back well at all. 2 enzymes were high and they also want to do an EKG. One that should be around 105 is 116. The problem is that the other, which should be around 100 is well over 1,000.
So I had to take specimin to the vet yesterday (Friday) and I'm awaiting the results. They are concerned about heart, liver and kidney functions and won't do the dental until they get the results because they're not sure she can handle the anesthesia.
Now, I have far too much pride to beg for money...anyone who knows me knows that. My financial situation right now is horrible...all my cards are maxed out and my car is about to be repo'd.
I have Care Credit, but I was only approved for $500. Wednesday's visit alone was $219 and the dental was estimated at over $600. And that was before the other things like the EKG and specimin analysis came into play.
I also have insurance for her, but firstly -- it's reimbursement so I have no way to pay first and the vet doesn't accept any type of payment plan or financing. Secondly, I'm extremely confident after speaking with a rep that they aren't going to cover most (if any) of my expenses because Princess is an 8 year old Maltese with Gingivitis/Periodontal Disease... this is a specific exclusion on the policy.
All I want is to fix my baby so she can go on and live a long life like she should. It's so heartbreaking that my dog is going to get sicker and sicker until she succumbs her increasing ailments because I don't live a rich lifestyle...why does my dog have to suffer??
I've had her since she was 2 months old and when I look into those eyes I want to just cry my eyes out and die.
Please, if you have any spare change, please help me help Princess. I have looked into every other outlet I could think of and this is my last resort to save my baby.
